Job Description and Synthesis
Our client, a leading privately held steel manufacturer based in Houston, TX, is seeking a Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Leader to join their growing team. This individual will drive the maximization of inventory investment returns and improve planning efficiency through improved analytical toolsets and reports.  This is a high profile role that partners with Commercial, Finance and Purchasing to identify and drive execution of opportunities for inventory reduction.

Specific Responsibilities
Inventory Management System:

  • Identify methodologies to determine the right inventory – at part level – to achieve target service levels at a reasonable cost;
  • Develop and maintain tools needed to determine inventory parameters (min-max) and manage inventory;
  • Use statistical methods to scale Kanban;
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for all inventory related initiatives and facilitate consensus and action;
  • Develop reports and dashboards to monitor inventory, including excess, obsolete, aged and service parts.

SIOPs Process:

  • Design and launch SiOP process and ensure regular SiOP reviews;
  • Conduct analysis of sales data and coordinate accumulation of forecasts.   Provide base forecast for forecast and planning:
  • Integrate demand data with inventory and supply data to optimize customer delivery and inventory levels;
  • Work with Operations to understand capacity (footprint, capital equipment)
  • Work with Commercial to continually improve forecast accuracy.

Key Qualifications

  •   Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering;
  • CPIM (supply chain certification)
  • Systems experience with ERP
  • Six-sigma black-belt
