Job Description and Synthesis
Our client is an institutional investment firm dedicated to delivering consistent, uncorrelated absolute returns in all market environments. They have offices in Chicago, New York, Greenwich, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong and Singapore. 

They are seeking an Associate to join their Client Relationship Group.

Specific Responsibilities
In the role of Associate, in the Client Relationship Group, the employee will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting investor relations and fundraising efforts for our client
  • Prepare presentations for client meetings
  • Respond to investor and prospect due diligence requests (inquiries, DDQs, questionnaires, RFPs, calls, etc)
  • Maintain updated due diligence/marketing materials for use in meetings and for the investor portal
  • Coordinate and manage (with supervision) our Operational Due Diligence activities
  • Support existing team members with new relationships, current relationships, prospecting, and various IR functions
  • Assist with larger due diligence projects, such as revising the investor portal, launching the due diligence website, automating investor stats through CRM system, creating/improving marketing materials, planning due diligence conferences, etc. 

Key Qualifications
In order to effectively represent the Company and communicate with clients, the employee must be someone who has:    

  • 2+ years of previous experience at a financial institution
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint and excel
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
  • Strong technical investment knowledge with the ability to effectively communicate investment strategy
  • Strong attention to detail

Spencer is the Founder and Managing Partner of MBK Search, LLC - an executive search firm that specializes in the governance, risk, compliance, and cybersecurity market space. Prior to founding MBK, Spencer was Head of Operational Risk at Bridgewater Associates. Before moving to Bridgewater, Spencer was the Head of Risk for ICAP, Plc covering the Americas Region. He started his career in venture capital as an investment associate.

Spencer graduated from Harvard University in 2001 and resides in Ridgefield, CT with his wife and two sons.
